i am looking at purchassing an off road gps . I have a friend with a vms 700hd and another with a hema hx1 . Both dont recomend them as they have had issues with them. Are there general problems with them and if so is there another gps that eveyone is happier with . Thanks for your help in advance
I like my VMS, a little slow at times and hard to view when in direct sunlight. However on road navigation is nice. Touch screen is not overly sensitive. For the price you pay it's worthwhile. Others I know say the hema app is the go.
In terms of screen sizes, both have 7'' screens and both are equipped with Igo Primo as well. But there is a significant difference in the memory aspect. VMS comes with 2GB of RAM, while Hema, on the other hand, possesses twice the storage capacity, which is 4GB. The start-up time for Hema is around 4 sec, while it is around 5.6 sec for VMS. So, there are certain areas where both are comparable while in some areas Hema overshadows VMS, especially in storage. I think Hema would be a better choice over VMS, the rest depends on your usage.
I hope it helps!
Thanks for your help mate
