So after not being convinced about the chip tuning options that are out there (looked up Superchips and Diablo Tuner) I decided to do the do it once do it right approach. Now I basically want to go with forced induction and trying to find out which one is better. So there is are two turbo kits made by prodigy that look interesting. They claim 95-120% at the wheels on their website but I haven't found any dyno charts yet. What I like about the turbos is that they don't parasite from the crank shaft and put out more peak power down low.
My second option is the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger. They actually advertise numbers and claim 317 WHP. Comes with Intercooler and inbuilt oil system.
Third option is a RIPP supercharger kit which has the least parasitic drain from all superchargers because they use a centrifugal blade design rather than a roots type like edelbrock or Magnusson. That's what I found about it:
RIPP uses a Vortech centrifugal supercharger. It's like the compressor side of a turbo, driven by the engine accessory belt. The general impact of a centrifugal supercharger is that boost is (approx) proportional to the square of the engine speed, and torque gains are (approx) linearly proportional to engine speed.
Fourth option is the Sprintex supercharger which looks really awesome as a unit. Also comes with intercooler and has self-contained oil.
So far I haven't been able to make a decision. They all seem to have their pros and cons and the price tags seem to be around 6000-8000 $. Again, I just want to do it right the first time and not f*ck around with it. So if it cost me 2 grand more but I won't wish I had gone a better kit I am happy to spend that much more.
