i have a aldi vived 80ch radio i love it i use a super cheap 4.5db fibre glass aieiel and can't fault it has anyone else used this radio or had problems with it ?

I have the same radio and so have some of my (work-)mates (I think 4 others in total) and none of them had problem running them. Okay, some haven't managed to put them in yet. 😉 I got a Uniden Bearcat 980 SSB in the first place. Nice looking thing device which looks a lot less like a toy. But I found out that nobody here in Oz uses CB Radio frequencies (besides some truckers). I decided to keep it in the car - just in case. We're gonna do Simpson Desert next year and who knows - we might need it. 😉 Pictures later.

I found the squelch control fiddly as there are about 5 push button settings . went back to a Uniden. Much happier.
