after market turbo
Has anyone fitted an aftermarket turbo to a Grand Cherokee WJ 4.0 ltr straight petrol engine?
If so, what is the make/model, cost, is/was it worth it and are there any problems with this mod.
I'm towing a caravan and it tows fine on the flat, until I point it at a hill. Then it gets ordinary.
I don't think towing a caravan ( or heavy trailer) was in the original design brief!!
Hey there and welcome on board. I guess this engine (4.0i ?) is the same as in the Wrangler TJ. I did have a quick look about superchargers and turbos but couldn't find anything substantial (as in, an off the shelf solution). Have you looked into re-gearing your diffs to a different gear ratio to win back some torque? That usually does the trick with Wranglers that run bigger tyres and tow.
