Need to by a new 4x4. What to buy?

After the last year our business really picked up making money I consider to finally get rid of the old rust box (my wife will take it as farm car) and get a new 4x4. With so many options out there, I don't know where I should head too. We agreed to spend no more than 60k including modifications like bullbar, rearbar, tyres, suspension lift and towbar. Winch, awning and that sorta stuff could be bought later. We want to set it up as a tourer with really good offroad capabilities. I had a look at the new Isuzu D-Max, Amarok and Ford Ranger. But it doesn't have to be a ute. In fact I have my work car for such duties and rather have something comfortable but reliable. 50% Onroad, 30% Light Offroad, 20% Tough Off Road. What would you suggest?

Some good picks there mate, and for the money you've allocated you will have a few more to add as well... D-Max and Amarok are both well-regarded vehicles and you couldn't go wrong with either from reports I've heard...
You could also add vehicles like a Pajero to that list, easily picking up a fairly new one and still fitting all of the required gear for that sort of money... If you are inclined, you could find a GU TD42T within that price range, although they are getting on in age now compared to the others... Same as a good 100 or 105 Series 'Cruiser... 78 Series wagons are also a good pick and within your price range...
In all honesty, you've got a very broad range to choose from with that sort of money, including the brand new ones you've mentioned...
Keep us informed! Good luck...
